Evening With Industry (EWI)
This event is held every semester the evening before the Engineering Career Fair at the Rio Grande restaurant. It is primarily a networking event where all WSCOE students get the chance to speak with and make connections with recruiters who will be at the career fair the next day.
Mentoring
We have two types of mentoring available to general SWE members: peer mentoring and professional mentoring. In the peer mentoring program, third, fourth, and fifth year students are paired with first and second year students and in the professional mentoring program, students are paired with women in industry. For more information, please reach out to our Mentoring Program Coordinator (check out the officers page)
Outreach Events
Introduce A Girl to Engineering (IAGE)
IAGE is an event created by CSU SWE in which we host about 100 middle-school girls on campus and lead them through dozens of fun, educational, hands-on activities about STEM. The goal is to simply show young girls all the opportunities available to them in STEM and to encourage them to pursue their interests.
Stick With SWE (SWS)
Stick With SWE is a shadowing event in which junior and senior high school girls are paired with 1 or 2 current CSU SWE members to attend classes, demos, and tours with them for a day. The goal of this event is to give shadows (the high school attendees) a picture of what college life is like as a female engineering student and introduce them to the community of SWE.
Community Events
We often volunteer at local events or in schools to get involved with STEM education and empowerment of young women.
