SWE Gold Mission Award
The CSU section of SWE is incredibly excited to have been awarded the highest distinction of the SWE Mission Awards at the We22 conference in Houston, TX. This award is given to collegiate sections of SWE that mostly highly demonstrate enhancement of the engineering profession through contributions to the industry, education, and the community.

Outstanding Collegiate Member Award

SWE recognizes the achievements and efforts of individuals and local sections each year at the Annual Awards Program. CSU SWE's section president for the 2022-2023 academic year, Abigail Fennell, was a recipient of the Outstanding Collegiate Award alongside 9 other collegiates from across the country! She received this award in person at We22 national conference in October.

CEC Silver Medal 2022 - Sarah Verderame
The Colorado Engineering Council (CEC) Silver Medal is awarded annually to a single student at each of Colorado’s engineering colleges. Selection is based on research skills, academic performance, and service, and begins with nominations from departments within the college and subsequent interviews with candidates. This year, Sarah Verderame, the CSU SWE section president for the 2021-2022 academic year, was selected to be the recipient for all of Colorado State University! |
Women in Engineering Proactive Network (WEPAN) and DiscoverE Girl Day Award 2022
WEPAN Award honorees demonstrate extraordinary service, significant achievement, model programs, and exemplary work environments that promote a culture of inclusion and the success of women in engineering. This year, alongside 19 other fantastic organizations and groups, CSU SWE was awarded the WEPAN award and the DiscoverE Girl Day Award (the National Engineers Week Award) for our Introduce A Girl to Engineering event!

3rd Place in the National SWENext Video Challenge 2022
One of the most asked questions by high school SWENexters is how to select a college so SWENext created a challenge for universities across the U.S. to create 3 minute videos that highlight their school, SWE section, their engineering department, and what makes it all so great. The CSU SWE section submitted an entry and won 3rd place!

Our very own Hannah Mikelson was awarded the prestigious Silver Medal Award! This award, presented by the Colorado Engineering Council, is awarded to one engineering student from each select university. Hannah, a biomedical and mechanical engineering student, has had several co-ops and internships, held numerous SWE leadership positions, and has been involved with other student organizations during her time here at CSU!
